Description
ELEGANT MINIATURE ANTIQUE PANEL BOOT VICTORIA CARRIAGE MUESEUM QUALITY This antique panel boot victoria carriage is a miniature of the large carriages that were very popular in the late 1800's. We purchased this carriage in November of 1974 at a museum sale in Florida. It was in rough condition, but all the important components were there. In the late 1970's and 1980's we were very active in raising, showing and selling miniature horses. This carriage appeared in many displays and parades. We used various hitches from one horse to a team and sometimes a spiked or unicorn hitch of three, which was made up of 2 wheelers and a leader in the center. The fabric does show some wear from these activities and from the dolls that have been setting on the velvet for many years. Please read all the information we are listing below. THE DOLLS THAT ARE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES ARE FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THE CARRIAGE. The carriage has been restored as close as possible to the original colors used at that time. The front wheel size is 14" in diameter. The rear wheels are 16" in diameter. Each are equipped with wooden hubs, wooden spokes, a metal flange and rubber tires. The overall length is 55" and the width of the rear wheels is 33". Overall width of the front wheels is 28". The height with the top up is 40". The following parts all appear to be original; one pair of brass candle powered lamps (one cracked pane), folding top, all wood and the following wrought iron parts, axles and nuts, top irons, springs and brackets (u bolts had to be replaced), body support irons, front and rear, steps, 5th wheel, seat rail, rein rail with brass trim, jump seat hinges, fender hangers and body mounting brackets. The following items have been replaced during restoration; patent leather to cover dash, copper fenders with leather cover, velvet top and satin headliner, paint, tires, plus bolts, nuts and screws as necessary. This beautiful carriage with it's many hand made parts would be an excellent addition for a museum, doll collector or private collection of elegant antiques from the 1800's. When viewing the pictures please take special note of the hand forged axles and other parts that are shown. If you have questions we will do our best to answer them to the best of our knowledge. We have tried to include everything we know about the history of this antique carriage. Please ask questions before purchasing. Payment is to be received within 5 business days from time of purchase. Non payment will result in eBay notification of non completion of transaction. THANK YOU VIEWING THIS CARRIAGE. IT IS PICKUP ONLY IN NORTHEASTERN OHIO.
