Vintage 1959 #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie w/ Accessories Original Topknot, Original TM Box, Insert for legs, Start Price USD 5,495.00 Current Price USD 5,495.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, November 16, 2008 End Time Tuesday, November 18, 2008 Location Ohio See more about 'Vintage 1959 #1 Blonde Ponytail Barbie w/ Accessories' Description I can't believe I'm going to sell her, but this is my beautiful #1 Barbie doll with box and accessories.  She's quite a treasure and it's so rare to find a true #1 Barbie in beautiful condition.  She has her ORIGINAL TOPKNOT, but the bottom band is long gone.  Her hair has not been trimmed.  I searched all her hair plugs with a jeweler's loupe and did find one behind her left ear that is missing hair.  Also the very last one at the end of her bangs, if it ever had any.  In all the years I've had her, I didn't even know about this until today and would never have found them without the loupe.  On the left side of her hairline, about 3 plugs up from her ear, there's a small one that looks empty, but with the loupe you can seet there's a couple of hairs in it (see close up).  Every other plug is thick, full, and beautiful.    Her hair is shiny and silky soft although her ponytail is flattened from laying in the box for so many years.  Her face paint is original and she has those wonderful old eyes.  I took lots of pictures if you'd like more emailed to you.  I do believe, by the looks of it, that her eyelash ridge has been retouched, but that's all.  I've just wiped her face with alcohol to be sure.  Her nose dots have faded, but they are there.  The very tip of the left side of her lips are beginning to fade but it's hardly noticable.  Her fingernails and toes are excellent, but her feet are stained as most all #1s are.  One of her copper tubes protrudes, and the other is either shoved up or it's gone.  The only real flaw I can find on this beauty is on her forehead.  There is a very faint green spot on the right side (see pics).  Something must have laid against it all those years that she wasn't played with.  The TM box is in decent shape, but it's not the best.  The top of the box has 1 split corner (see pic).  At the other end, one corner is split just part of the way up and the other corner has no splits but a small piece of paper that's torn.  The box bottom has one corner that has old yellowed tape on it, but it's split.  The other 3 corners are okay.  Included is the original insert for Barbie's feet.  It's rare to still find one of these.  A neck insert is included also, but I'm not convinced it's original to this box.  Also included are the #1 booklet with the Roman Holiday, Easter Parade, and Gay Parisienne outfits shown, her original sunglasses, #1 black open toe JAPAN heels, perfect condition, hoop earrings, and a reproduction stand.  The booklet is firm and in great shape except the back has some paper wear.  The stand looks identical to the original on the top (Barbie TM by Mattel) but it is solid, not hollow.  Please email any questions.   US BIDDERS ONLY ON THIS AUCTION.    Because of the value of this item, I cannot accept returns, so this is an AS-IS auction, but believe me, you won't be disappointed.  Please, serious bidders only.  All offers will be considered.        Place a Bid!
